School Daze

This is a picture of Shayne & Ian's school. It is at the base of the Hanalei valley (see picture of Hanalei Bay Jan 24th post). Notice the majestic waterfall flowing down the mountain side. After a heavy rain, which often come during the night, all of the neighboring mountains are streaked white by the numerous waterfalls flowing down their slopes.

Although waterfalls are as abundant as the feral chickens, we never get bored of seeing either one of them. The waterfalls disappear from the hill sides and then magically reappear after a rain, the chickens are here all the time.

Shayne being very studious doing her homework on the beach (no prompting from us...Those days are numbered I am sure). On Wednesdays, the children get out of school at 1:15 instead of the typical 2:15. We picked them up from school (they typically ride the bus home) and we go to the beach., or the public library, or both.

Yes, life here is tough with the sand getting in your text books and the sunscreen lotion staining your homework.

Max the beach bum. He loves fighting the waves as they crash into the shore. He has taken a couple of tumbles but he gets back up for another round.
